Weekend Clerk’s Office Hours — Absent Voter Ballots

August 4, 2026 State Primary Election

Helena Township, Antrim County, Michigan

Please take notice that, pursuant to MCL 168.761b, the Helena Township Clerk’s office will be open to issue and receive absent voter ballots on the weekend immediately before the August 4, 2026 State Primary Election during the following hours:

Saturday, August 1, 2026
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 2, 2026
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Registered voters may apply for, receive, and return an absent voter ballot in person at the Clerk’s office during these hours.

Early voting is also available at the Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on these same days.

Polls are open 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Early Voting (9 Consecutive Days)- Michigan provides at least nine consecutive days of early voting before each statewide election.
Primary Early Voting Dates: July 25 – August 2, 2026
General Early Voting Dates: October 24 – November 1, 2026

Voters may register online, by mail, or in person. If registering within 14 days of an election, registration must occur in person with proof of residency.

Absent Voter (AV) Ballots

All registered voters may request an absentee ballot. Applications must be submitted by the Friday before Election Day. Completed ballots must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Secure Ballot Drop Box

Helena Township maintains a secure absentee ballot drop box mounted at the front entrance of the Township Office for voter convenience.
The drop box is under continuous video surveillance. Ballots are retrieved by Clerk or Deputy Clerk ONLY.

Election Inspectors (Poll Workers)

Helena Township recruits and trains election inspectors for each election cycle. Residents interested in serving are encouraged to contact the Clerk’s Office.
